Croatia is one of the most beautiful European countries. It is situated on the east coast of the Adriatic Sea, east of Italy. It is well known for a medieval sword dance called the Moreska.  But Croatia is home to one of the ten most beautiful islands. Hvar Island is well known for pretty villages and lavender fields. Once you visit Hvar Island, you should not miss Stari Grad, Church of St. Lawrence at Vrboska and vineyard of Zlatan Otok at Sveta Nedjelja. Hvar is a perfect place to relax and enjoy yourself, but if you are looking for a vibrant nightlife, you will definitely find it on this beautiful island. As far as the islands are concerned, you should not miss The Blue Cave which is located on the shore of Bisevo, a small island near Vis which is the farthest inhabited island from the mainland. You should know that in Croatia there are more than 1,100 islands, of which fewer than 100 are inhabited.  But one of the most attractive hot spots of Croatia is definitely the former city-republic of Dubrovnik. This beautiful city stands on the coast of South Dalmatia. Dubrovnik was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.
